New Photo Tour Itineraries

This has been my busiest period since starting Lightstalkers almost 2 years ago with all recent trips being booked out.  I’m now looking towards 2012 and developing some new locations and ideas.

The new Lightstalker Tour in May 2012 is based on the Highlander format and will run during May. It will feature some excellent locations not featured on the Highlander trip including Glencoe, Glen Nevis, Glenfinnan, Arisaig beaches and the Isle of Skye

Another addition is the new Caledonia Autumn Tour which starts in Inverness and ends in the Scottish capital Edinburgh. It will also feature some wild locations including Torridon, Applecross, Dornoch Firth and the Tarbet Ness Light house and the magnificent Cairngorm National Park.

4000 miles later
Just returned from a great trip taking in several European countries including France, Germany, Austria, Slovenia, Croatia and Italy. Gave my shoulder a holiday and took my new compact LX5 Lumix which creates nice sharp Raw files, some of which I’ll post soon. Got some great ideas for workshop locations in the future including Croatia and Slovenia, see below.
Croatia 2012
October 2012 is being penciled in for a workshop in Croatia, specifically the Adriatic Island of Cres and the Unesco world heritage Plitvice lakes. Cres is the largest Adriatic island and at it’s northern end one of the least developed. Hilltop villages tower above rocky  bays with crystal cear waters and the walking trails that criss cross the island t offer amazing views over the Kvarner Gulf that are just breathtaking. Plitvice is an 8km long network of lakes and waterfalls which you could easily spend days exploring and are so photogenic. In October the sea is still warm and the islands quieten down after the summer season, an ideal time to photograph and explore these two great locations. The duration of the trip would around 8 days.
