Trip summary This is one of the best times to visit this fascinating and friendly corner of Europe. We'll meet up in this little European nations gem of a capitol Ljubljana, where you'll spend your first night and enjoy an evening photo shoot session in it's historic and picturesque centre.
The following day, you'll head north west towards the Julian Alps to jaw droppingly beautiful Lake Bled and explore and photograph the stunning surrounding lakes and mountains. Bled has it all, a small town surrounded by mountains, a castle perched upon a cliff top, a lake complete with an island that appears to float, along with it's atmospheric Baroque church, just for good measure.
From our base in Bled we'll also photograph beautiful Lake Bohinj, walk through and photograph Vintgar gorge, plus the surrounding mountains and iconic churches such as Sveti Tomaz that dot the region.
Leaving Bled for the day we'll head west and winding our way up to traverse the stunning Vrisc Pass, the highest in the Julian Alps. The vistas here are stunning, linger long in your memory and offer some amazing photo opportunities. Desending down into the beautiful Soca valley we'll capture its aquamarine river that tumbles from the mountains before arriving in the little town of Bovec for lunch. From here we'll focus on some of the waterfalls of the region including Slap Virje and Kozak falls near Kobarid. Late afternoon we'll take a side trip into Italy to capture Lake Fusine at dusk below the north face of Mt Mangart as the sun sets. Returning to Bled mid evening
From Bled we'll leave the Julian Alps and travel south to the medieval coastal town of Piran which will offer a complete contrast to the Julian Alps. Piran sits on the Adriatic Sea and it's here that we'll have our final photo sessions. Your base for two nights Piran is perched on a spit of land and with its Venetian gothic architecture is one of the most well preserved on the entire Adriatic coast.
From Piran we'll return to Ljubljana via both the Skocjan caves and Predjama castle. An action packed photo adventure with a backdrop of Autumn colour and breathtaking mountain scenery.Book your place online.
