Your chance to spend 5 fantastic days photographing Autumn colours of the Highlands. Locations include The Isle of Skye, Loch Ness, Glen Affric, Assynt, Eilean Donan Castle and the chance to encounter the Moray Firth Dolphins. This is where the Viking gods practiced making mountains!. A west coast wonder in Sutherland, the Torridonian sandstone mountains around Inverpolly have a unique character, lunging out of the lochan strewn bogs and surrounding moorland. From our base in the scenic fishing town of Ullapool we’ll explore accessible Stac Pollaidh which provides stunning views as well as great subject matter along with the lochs that surround it. Ardvreck Castle stands alone on the edge of Loch Assynt and we’ll spend a session capturing the mood and dramatic scenery that encirlces this famous loch. Achnahaird beach provides a contrast and subtler mood with the distinct mounatins of Suilven, Stac Polly and Cul Mor lurking in the distance. I spent most of last winter’s photo sessions up here in total awe of the place, I couldn’t stay away!. If you’ve never experienced Inverpolly, you are missing out. More info below

Three famous brooding Highland mountains Ben Alligin, Liathach and Ben Eighe stand over Upper Loch Torridon and it’s this area that we’ll be exploring and focusing on. We’ll also wander the shores of magical Loch Maree and it’s classic Caledonian Pines. Spring will be in the air, so we’ll be making the most of the light and weather permitting getting to grips with some classic locations around Torridon. A memorable session will feature a walk to some waterfalls deep into the Glen at the base of “the haunted mountain”, Ben Alligin. Time permitting we’ll take a look at remote Red Point Beach for some coastal work. Your base for the workshop is the extremely hospitable and perfectly located Kinlochewe hotel just a few miles down beautiful Glen Torridon. More info below

In both 2004 & 2005, I was awarded Victorian Landscape Photographer of the Year by the AIPP (Australian Institute of Professional Photography).

I lived and photographed in this diverse region for 10 years and my first hand knowledge ensures you get to see some truly remarkable locations, not just the usual suspects. It offers a variety of landscapes and breathtaking photographic opportunities that you will never forget. Photography tuition, evening critiques and hands on learning in the field are all on hand if you need it.
